ery training program at the University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery, and the clinic also supports the efforts of the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation. Established in 1978 upon the retirement of the Mayfield Clinic's founder, the late Dr. Frank H. Mayfield, the Foundation has quietly supported neuroscientific research and education for over 35 years. Seven years ago, the Mayfield Clinic physician shareholders unanimously voted to donate a percentage of their annual income to the Foundation to build its endowment, and four years ago we hired a development director to chart the Foundation's growth forward. During this time, we have made great strides to towards our goal of becoming a highly relevant, impactful resource for the local community. Since 2011, Mayfield Foundation has funded more than $1.1 million in grants and projects across our three priority areas: Innovative Research, Medical Education & Training, and Community Education.
