🎃 Wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween weekend from all of us at GFLI!

🐛Don't let bugs ruin your Halloween weekend!

As fall temperatures continue to drop, it's a good time to check your boxwoods for signs of box tree moth damage. Look for webbing, skeletonized leaves, caterpillars, and greenish-black droppings hidden among the branches.

Box tree moth caterpillars overwinter on boxwoods and resume feeding in the spring. Catching an infestation early can help limit further damage and protect your shrubs.

Think your boxwoods may be affected? Call us at (513) 351-6100 or fill out a form on our website to have a tree health professional assess your boxwoods!

🍂Fallen leaves, when left as a thin layer over our lawns, can act as a natural layer of mulch that insulates and nourishes the soil. If you choose to rake the leaves in your yard, you can reuse them as free mulch for your garden beds and around the base of your trees.

Every October, we get to enjoy beautiful fall foliage, and every November, that foliage becomes piles of dead leaves in our yards. What then? For years, the standard was to rake every leaf into a garbage bag and send it to the landfill; however, that is far from the best way to manage fallen leaves.....

🐝At GFLI, we relocate beehives found in trees instead of destroying them. We partner with a local beekeeper to safely remove and rehive colonies where they can thrive. Read more about our bee-friendly approach and why it matters: https://wix.to/cIAMUfs
