Dietitian-turned-derm here 🫶 and if you deal with psoriasis, this one’s for you.
A recent study found people with mild to moderate psoriasis saw improvement on a Mediterranean-style diet. Translation: what’s happening inside the body really can show up on the skin.
What surprised me most? The skin improved without significant weight loss — suggesting it’s the anti-inflammatory foods themselves doing the work, not just the scale moving.
What that looks like on the plate:
🫒 Healthy fats — olive oil, avocado, nuts
🐟 Omega-3-rich fish — salmon, sardines
🥦 Colorful fruits + veggies
🌾 Beans + whole grains
➡️ More whole, anti-inflammatory foods, less of the highly processed stuff
One honest caveat: food may not clear psoriasis on its own, and it’s not a replacement for medical treatment. But nutrition can absolutely be part of a comprehensive approach to managing it.
Your routine doesn’t always start at the sink. Sometimes it starts on your plate. 🍴 Tag someone dealing with psoriasis 👇 Follow for more where food meets skin — dietitian-turned-derm, here to connect the dots.
