Your hip surgery can be successful—and your hip flexor can still hurt.
Persistent pain after hip arthroscopy or hip replacement doesn’t automatically mean something went wrong with the joint. The iliopsoas (hip flexor) sits directly in front of the hip and can remain irritated, tight, or painful even when the surgery itself looks excellent.
In Video 1 of 3, I explain why the hip flexor is one of the first structures I consider when someone has persistent pain after an otherwise successful hip surgery—and the clues that help distinguish iliopsoas pain from pain inside the joint.
