We "donut" know how we got so lucky… 💛🍩

We celebrated by sprinkling a little extra love across our NICU with a donation from Costco. Our tiniest fighters and their incredible families shared some sweet moments (and sweet treats!). These little ones absolutely hole-d our hearts!

Congrats to Grace Williams, APRN-CNP from the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (DDBP) Clinic, for earning a recent DAISY Award! 🌼

Grace delivers extraordinary care with compassion and clinical excellence and her impact shows. When one family arrived feeling stressed and overwhelmed, Grace created a calm, welcoming space where questions felt safe, emotions were supported and their voices truly mattered. They left feeling lighter and hopeful.

Grace also leads by example. While precepting a new APRN, she modeled thoughtful, family-centered care and shaped the next generation of providers with her skill, dedication and heart.

She breaks down complex information into clear, practical next steps and empowers families with understanding, not just instructions. She makes them active partners in care, so they leave feeling confident that their plan reflects their needs and values.

Thank you, Grace, for going above and beyond for our patients and their families. Your impact is meaningful 💙

During her anatomy scan, doctors diagnosed Joanna with occipital encephalocele—a condition where brain tissue grows through an opening in the skull. Just two weeks later, her family came to our Fetal Care Center, where we provided extensive testing, advanced imaging, and coordinated multidisciplinary care. Joanna was born there at 37 weeks and went straight to our NICU. Within hours of birth, surgeons performed her first operation to repair the encephalocele. After more than 20 days in the NICU, Joanna headed home! She later needed additional surgeries to place a shunt to treat hydrocephalus, a buildup of brain fluid, and she was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Today, Joanna is thriving. Our teams continue to follow her closely, and she participates in occupational, physical, and speech therapies. This , we celebrate kids like Joanna and their incredible strength. 💜
