Haemophilus influenzae (H. influenzae) bacteria can cause a range of infections, from mild ear infections to life-threatening conditions, such as meningitis and pneumonia. Young children face the highest risk of serious illness, so it's recommended that all kids under five years receive the Hib vaccine.

Talk to your child's health care provider about the Hib vaccination today! For more information, visit: https://www.cdc.gov/hi-disease/vaccines/index.html

A positive Influenza A case was identified in McCone County yesterday. It seems a bit early but take precautions to prevent catching the nasty bu**er! We still have some Flu vaccine on hand... just give us a call. Otherwise you know the drill but just in case:
Core Prevention Recommendations

• Annual Vaccination: Get your flu shot every year since virus strains change and immunity takes about two weeks to build.
• Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Avoid Close Contact: Stay away from people who are sick, and stay home if you have flu symptoms until you are fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
• Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue or your upper sleeve/elbow—not your hands—when coughing or sneezing.
• Don't Touch Your Face: Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth to keep germs from entering your body.
• Clean Surfaces: Regularly disinfect frequently touched items and surfaces like doorknobs, phones, and counters.
• Improve Indoor Air: Increase fresh air flow, use air purifiers, or gather outdoors when possible.

STAY HOME when you are sick :)
