“No pain, no gain” is one of the most common myths in fitness and rehabilitation. While some muscle soreness can be a normal part of activity, pain is not a requirement for progress. In fact, pain is often your body’s way of signaling that something needs attention. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, building strength, or improving mobility, steady, consistent effort—not pushing through pain—is what leads to long-term success. Listen to your body, respect its limits, and remember that progress is measured by improved function, strength, and confidence—not by how much discomfort you can tolerate.
