Thelma Inez Pool, of Claude, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Thelma was born on June 18, 1932, in Ashtola, Texas, to George Robert and Reta Thelma (DeFries) Eddleman. She was one of six children and spent her entire life in the Claude community, where she built lasting friendships and devoted herself to her family.
On December 23, 1949, she married James “Jim” Conrad in Clovis, New Mexico. They shared many years together until Jim’s passing. Later, Thelma found love again and married Leo H. “Pete” Pool on July 30, 1982, in Colorado. Pete also preceded her in death.
A faithful woman, Inez was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Claude. She was known for her devotion to her family, her strong faith, and the kindness she showed to those around her throughout her life. Inez’s girls loved to tease her about the fact that she graduated from Goodnight High School as a salutatorian of her 2 member graduation class.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James “Jim” Conrad and Leo H. “Pete” Pool; her brother, Alvin “Poodle” Eddleman; her sister, Dorothy Carr; her stepson, James E. Pool; and her granddaughter, April.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda Goodpasture and husband Eddie of Claude, Glenda Battenfield and husband Kenneth of Claude, and Patricia Smith and husband Johnnie of Claude; her stepson, Douglas Pool of Sutherlin, Oregon;...
