Brittany Sciolla is a mom to a 3-year-old, an illustrator, and the founder of Kindred Keeps. While running an equine therapy program for kids, she became fascinated by the role connection with caregivers plays in a child’s life. That interest took on a whole new meaning when she became a mom herself and saw firsthand how important it is for children to feel connected, seen, and understood.

On Thursday, I’m planning to talk about connection in early motherhood, and how it can get lost in all the things we’re told we “should” be doing for our babies. We’ll talk about the simple ways connection is built in everyday life, why the little moments matter, and how we can be more intentional about creating them without adding more to our plates.

I’ll also bring along a prototype of the Connection Deck, an illustrated deck of cards I’ve been creating to make connecting with young kids feel easier, more playful, and more natural.

Why does pumped milk sometimes look a little blue? 💙

Totally normal—and actually a good sign 👇🏼

At the beginning of a pumping or feeding session, your milk has a higher water content, which can make it look thinner, slightly translucent, or even bluish. As the session continues, the milk naturally becomes richer in fat, giving it that creamy white or slightly yellow tone.

✨ What this means:
• Blue-ish milk = hydrating, nutrient-rich, and perfect for baby
• It does NOT mean low quality or low supply
