As a reminder, the LAJVAMC will host a Veteran Stand Down event on Wednesday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Overlook and Hilltop Shelter at Veterans Memorial Park in Clarksburg. Multiple services and resources will be available for homeless and at-risk Veterans. Refreshments will be served.

The Survivors Assistance and Memorial Support (SAMS) Program at VA offers personalized supportive services to families, caregivers, and survivors at the end of a Veteran’s life and after a Veteran passes. The SAMS program also ensures dignified burials for Veterans who lack next of kin. VA SAMS is committed to honoring the sacrifices made by Veterans and helping their survivors feel supported with high-quality, reliable, consistent, and compassionate care.
