With heavy hearts, we share that Joanna S. Novak, mother of our fellow Clarkston Area Optimist Club member Kathy Novak, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 96.

Please join us in keeping Kathy and her family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. As Optimists, we know the strength of community, and this is a time to surround one of our own with love, comfort, and support.

Joanna was remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the matriarch of her family. May her memory be a blessing, and may Kathy and her family feel the care and support of this community.
