💛 One of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that therapists are there to judge you.

In reality, our role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about your experiences, challenges, thoughts, and emotions. We understand that life can be complicated, and our goal is to help you explore, heal, grow, and work toward the changes that matter most to you.

You don't have to have it all figured out before coming to therapy. We're here to meet you where you are.

💧 Meet the unofficial members of the Dragonfly Counseling team: our emotional support water bottles.

Whether we're in session, writing notes, attending meetings, or answering emails, there's a very good chance one of these is within arm's reach.

But staying hydrated actually plays an important role in our overall well-being. Water helps support energy levels, concentration, mood, and even stress management. When we're dehydrated, we may be more likely to experience fatigue, irritability, headaches, and difficulty focusing.

As therapists, we're always encouraging self-care, and sometimes self-care starts with something as simple as drinking enough water throughout the day.

So whether your emotional support item is a giant water bottle, a favorite coffee mug, a cozy blanket, or your dog sitting beside you, don't underestimate the power of small habits that help you feel your best. 💛

Now be honest... do you have an emotional support water bottle too? 👀

🌿 Boundaries are not about pushing people away, they’re about protecting your well-being.

Setting healthy boundaries helps create balance in your life by honoring your time, energy, emotions, and needs. Saying “no” doesn’t make you selfish, and prioritizing yourself doesn’t mean you care less about others.

Healthy boundaries can help prevent burnout, improve relationships, and create space for the things that matter most.

Remember: taking care of yourself is not something you need to earn. 💛

🅹 J is for Jungian Therapy

In our ABCs of Therapy series, we’re exploring different approaches to help you better understand what therapy can look like.

Jungian Therapy focuses on exploring deeper meaning, patterns, and the unconscious mind, helping individuals gain insight into their thoughts, behaviors, and life experiences.

✨ Therapy is a personal journey, and finding the right fit matters.

💚 There is no “right” time to start therapy.

You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable or until you can perfectly explain what you’re experiencing. Therapy isn’t only for crisis situations, it can be a place for growth, support, learning new skills, and gaining a better understanding of yourself.

Sometimes the reason to start is simply: something doesn’t feel quite right.

And that’s enough. 💛

🇺🇸 Memorial Day

Today we pause to honor and remember the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who gave so much for our country.

Memorial Day can hold different meanings and emotions for different people — gratitude, remembrance, pride, grief, and reflection. Whatever this day looks like for you, we encourage you to give yourself space for rest, connection, and care.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day as we take time to remember those who served and sacrificed.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Office Closure Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that Dragonfly Counseling will be closed on Memorial Day as we take time to honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday weekend and takes some time to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

Our office will resume normal business hours following the holiday.

🐾 Cali’s Corner

Hi furriends 💛

Since it’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to remind you of something important… you don’t always have to be “doing something” to take care of yourself.

Sometimes taking care of your mental health looks like slowing down, finding comfort, leaning on support, or just taking a moment to rest (I happen to be very experienced in that area 🐶).

Big feelings, hard days, and needing support are all part of being human, and you never have to carry it all by yourself.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some very important cuddling and emotional support duties to get back to. 🐾

💚 Emotional pain doesn’t always look like tears.

Sometimes it shows up quietly, canceling plans, pulling away from others, feeling more irritable than usual, sleeping differently, losing interest in things you once enjoyed, or simply feeling numb.

Because mental health struggles don’t always look obvious, it’s important to remember that people can be carrying heavy things even when it isn’t visible.

Checking in with others, and with yourself, can make a difference.

You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable to seek support.
