🀝 Building Stronger Partnerships for Sustainable Impact

Doug Drake, CEO, and Kimberly O'Brien, COO, represented PCS at the Being for Others Health & Wellness Network Gathering in Crawford County, and what a meaningful day it was!

We reconnected with valued partners and old friends and began exciting new conversations with organizations we hope to partner with in the future.

What stood out most? The Being for Others Board of Directors, two of whom attended in person, truly listens to the nonprofits they serve. Their commitment to multi-year grants (rather than the traditional one-year funding cycle) empowers organizations like PCS to plan strategically and build lasting, sustainable impact in our communities.

Thank you to Christian Blome and the entire Being for Others Board for being visionaries who walk alongside nonprofits, not just fund them. πŸ’™

🌱 Recovery Looks Different for Everyone

There's no single "right way" to recover. For some, it's therapy. For others, it's a support group, medication, faith, family, or all of the above. πŸ’™

At PCS, we meet people where they are because recovery isn't one-size-fits-all, and it shouldn't be.

🌿 Individualized treatment plans
🀝 Compassionate, judgment-free care
πŸ’™ Adjusted-fee scale, so cost isn't the barrier

Whatever your path looks like, you don't have to walk it alone.

🀝 When Communities Connect, People Thrive

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation; it happens in community. This Recovery Month, PCS is reminded that healing grows strongest when neighbors, families, faith communities, schools, and employers all show up for one another.

Connection is part of the treatment.
Research consistently shows that people in recovery do better when they have:
🏑 A support system that doesn't give up on them
πŸ™Œ Community spaces free of judgment and stigma
πŸ’Ό Employers and neighbors willing to offer second chances
β›ͺ Faith and community leaders who point people toward help, not shame

At PCS, we see this every day. Our Substance Use Disorder Program doesn't just treat the individual; we partner with families, schools, churches, and local organizations across Indiana and Kentucky to build the kind of community support that makes lasting recovery possible.

Because recovery isn't just a personal journey. It's a community responsibility.

When we choose connection over judgment and support over silence, we help create a place where people don't just survive; they thrive.

How can you help build that community?

Check out the article from our Board Chair, Cedric Knight, in the newest edition of Southern Indiana Living Magazine. This will be made available to the public on Sep 1, but please enjoy the e-pub.
Cedric’s article, A Journey Toward Healing and Hope, sheds light on mental health and how important it is in our overall wellness. We love to hear success stories from the people we serve, and our doors are open to anyone who needs help.
Thank you, Cedric, for sharing your story and for all you do within our community. We are blessed to have you as our Board Chairman.
Please take time for yourself and your mental well-being each day. If you or someone you know is looking for mental health counseling, please know that we are a phone call away.
