Healing happens in community. 🤍

At Becoming Therapy Center, we aren’t just therapists. We’re members of this community, too! You’ll find us hosting workshops, collaborating with local providers, attending community events, and building relationships that help support the clients and families we serve.

When we make a referral, we’re not pulling a name from a directory. More often than not, we’re connecting you with someone we’ve collaborated with, learned from, or shared a coffee with. We believe mental health care works best when it’s connected. That’s why we invest in relationships, partnerships, and opportunities to support our community both inside and outside the therapy office.

And as a bonus? We can probably recommend a great coffee shop, a favorite playground, or a rainy-day activity for the kiddos, too.

We’re ready whenever you are!

Military life asks a lot of families.

The continual transitions, deployments, trainings, reintegration, solo parenting, and starting over again can take a quiet toll. Trust us, we get it.

At Becoming Therapy Center, we care deeply about supporting military spouses and mamas. We believe that military families deserve quality care that genuinely understands the unique stressors this lifestyle can bring.

We also want to help clear up a common misconception around TRICARE coverage:

We are TRICARE-certified non-network providers, which means clients may still be eligible for significant reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. Rather than the provider submitting claims directly, clients submit claims to TRICARE for reimbursement. You can learn more in the FAQs section of our website.

Many military families don’t realize this option is available to them.

If you’ve been looking for specialized support for the intersection of military life and perinatal or maternal mental health, we’re here for you. 🤍

Last night felt like true wish fulfillment. ✨

We brought together providers from across the perinatal and maternal wellness community with one shared goal: creating more connected, collaborative support for mothers, babies, and families.

When referral networks strengthen, continuity of care improves, and each person receives more thoughtful, supported, whole-person care.

You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to begin therapy.

Many of the people I work with are used to being the ones who give and give. They show up for their families, their work, their communities. They hold things together for the people they love.

Over time, that can start to feel like a perpetual season of giving, which can lead to burnout, resentment, emotional fatigue, or irritability.

Therapy can be a place where you step into a season of receiving. Receiving support, care, reflection, and healing.

You deserve care, too. If this season of life feels heavy, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Ready to begin receiving support? Simply visit my website, fill out the contact form, and schedule a free consultation. Link in bio. 🤍

What does PMH-C mean?

It stands for Perinatal Mental Health Certified. A credential through that reflects advanced training in perinatal mental health and its treatment.

The perinatal period includes family planning, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and new parenthood. It is a season that is tender, complex, and deeply transformative.

To earn this certification, clinicians complete advanced coursework, have at least two years of clinical experience with this population, pass a certification exam, and commit to ongoing continuing education. It reflects both specialized training and a continued dedication to serving parents and families.

As PMH-C clinicians, we are trained to understand how this developmental period affects the whole person, including your body, hormones, sleep, mental health, relationships, contexts, and identity. We look at the full picture, not just isolated symptoms.

You deserve support from someone specifically trained for this chapter. 🤍

🌿 Class Spotlight: Postpartum Mental Health — You Are Not Alone

Tomorrow at Mama University, we are honored to welcome Hannah Mersereau, LPC-MHSP, PMH-C, a licensed professional counselor specializing in maternal mental health.

Motherhood is beautiful — and it can also be overwhelming, emotional, and heavy. Many moms experience baby blues, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, or deep feelings of mom guilt. Yet too often, these struggles are faced silently.

At Mama University, we believe education and community are powerful tools for healing. That’s why this session is so important.

💛 What We’ll Cover:
✨The difference between Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression
✨Signs and symptoms of Postpartum Anxiety
✨Understanding and navigating Mom Guilt
✨When to seek professional help
✨Practical tools for emotional regulation and daily coping
✨How partners and community can support new moms

Hannah will provide expert insight in a safe, compassionate environment where moms can ask questions openly and without judgment.

🌸 Why This Matters

Postpartum mental health challenges are common — but they are not a sign of weakness. They are not a failure of faith. And they are certainly not something you have to walk through alone.

At Mama University, our mission is to create a nurturing and empowering environment for new mothers, rooted in education, expert guidance, and meaningful connection . This session reflects our commitment to supporting the whole mother — body, mind, and heart.

My commitment to this work is deeply personal.

I welcomed my first child during the COVID 19 pandemic while my military family was stationed overseas. Even as a mental health professional, I felt unprepared for the emotional impact and isolation of new parenthood. That season transformed me. And it lit a fire within me: no new parent should have to traverse this season alone or without meaningful support.

Determined to offer more specialized care, I pursued training and certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. I began intentionally focusing my clinical work on supporting folks through life transitions, with particular care for new and expectant parents.

Becoming Therapy Center was born from the belief that healing happens in connection. My practice extends beyond individual therapy to include couples counseling, support groups, workshops, and community partnerships that strengthen families beyond the therapy room.

When we support parents, we strengthen relationships, nurture children, and build healthier communities.

You deserve care in this season.
You are not alone.
You are not broken.
You are becoming. 🤍
