🩷 SU***DE PREVENTION & AWARENESS 🩷

On Monday August 17, 2026, Clay City Pediatrics & Primary Care, an affiliate of Frontier Medical Associates, is wearing pink in remembrance of a young life lost far too soon and in support of su***de prevention and awareness.

Behind every smile can be a struggle we cannot see. Let us choose kindness, check on one another, listen without judgment, and remind the people around us that their lives matter and they are never alone.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of su***de or self-harm, please reach out for help. You do not have to face those thoughts alone.

In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

🩷 You matter. Your story matters. Your life matters.
🩷 There is hope. There is help.

🌞 **Extreme Heat Safety Reminder** 🌞

With temperatures climbing, it's important to take extra precautions to protect yourself and those around you.

💧 Stay safe by:
• Seeking air conditioning or cooled public spaces if your home becomes too hot.
• Avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
• Wearing lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing.
• Drinking plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
• Checking on family members, friends, and neighbors—especially older adults, young children, and families with babies—to make sure they are staying cool and hydrated.

⚠️ Know the warning signs of heat-related illness:
• **Heat cramps:** Painful muscle cramps or spasms.
• **Heat exhaustion:** Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache, or fainting. Move to a cool place, drink water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
• **Heat stroke:** A medical emergency. Symptoms may include a high body temperature, confusion, loss of consciousness, or hot, dry skin (or heavy sweating). Call 911 immediately.

🚗 **Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.** Temperatures inside a car can become dangerously high very quickly.

Taking a few simple precautions can help prevent serious heat-related illness. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe!
