There is little to no difference between cremation for humans and for pets. Both use the same type of equipment and similar processes, and some crematoriums in fact work with both pets and humans. Give us a call at 302-478-7100 if you have any questions about what our cremation process is.

When attending a funeral, we find that it is always best to remember to simply listen when talking with grieving friends and/or family. Express sympathy and then listen for how they respond.

In the funeral profession, a celebrant is a non-clergy professional that conducts formal memorials or celebration of life services. They are dedicated to conduct meaningful services that honor and remember a life lived. They can do so without linking to religious affiliation or beliefs, or include the deceased beliefs as requested. The message of their service includes unique sharing of how the deceased lived their life, their personality and values, and even memories from family and friends. Not only do they perform the funeral service, they actually plan and oversee all funeral proceedings. A funeral celebrant is there to help you decide on any and all details as you are arranging the funeral.

In 1864, the first military burial in Arlington National Cemetery took place for Private William Christman.Today, the cemetery remains active and is most well-known for The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which includes the remains of unknown service members from WWI, WWII and the Korean War.

The Public Cemetery: plots of land owned by a governmental unit within a town, city or county. They are required by law to be open.
The Church Cemetery: These are found in the churchyard which can often be separate from the church, and are generally open for all to visit.
The Private Cemetery: These cemeteries are less available to the public and will list the owners and/or caretakers at the entrance.
Family Cemetery: A family cemetery would see the occasional close friend buried on the family property along with family members, restricted to the general public
Veterans’ Cemetery: As part of their service in the military, veterans who were honorably discharged from service are given the opportunity to be buried in a military cemetery.
