The maintenance technician handles day-to-day repairs, routine checks, and safety upkeep. They keep the building, rooms, and grounds clean, safe, and working well for residents. Core Duties
General Repairs: Fix broken furniture, patch drywall, paint rooms, and clear clogged plumbing. Laundry machine repair.
System Upkeep: Check and service heating, cooling (HVAC), and hot water systems.
Safety Checks: Test emergency lights, fire alarms, and exit doors to meet health rules.
Outdoor Care: Mow the lawn, trim bushes, and clear snow or ice from walkways.

Job Requirements
Valid Driver’s Licence required.
Skills: Know basic plumbing, electrical work, and general hand tools.
Physical Ability: Able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more) and stand or walk all day.
Communication: Be friendly, respectful, and patient when working around residents.

Gini is very passionate about serving older adults and helping create communities where residents feel valued, respected, and truly at home. With more than 8 years of experience in healthcare, social services, and long-term care she has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life for individuals and families through compassionate leadership in person-centered care.

She holds a Masters of Science in gerontology and a licensed Bachelor of social worker her education background and professional experience have provided her with a strong understanding of the unique needs of older adults as well as important of fostering meaningful relationships, preserving dignity, and supporting Independence.
