If Pride feels layered this year, maybe tender, maybe uncertain, I want to gently name that you’re not alone in that.

It makes sense if this month stirs up something complicated. Especially if you’re still unlearning old teachings that told you your love, your body, or your becoming were something to be ashamed of. Maybe you're still walking away from spaces that called your love a sin, Pride can stir old pain. That doesn’t mean you’re not part of it. It means the work is still ongoing.

I hold deep respect for Pride, not just as a celebration, but as a living resistance. Born from grief and courage, from risk and refusal. It’s sacred.

And I want you to know: you don’t have to feel loud to belong to it.

You don’t have to be out, certain, or healed to be part of this story.

You belong here, even if you’re still finding your way; even if it feels tender to hold.

This month is for you, too.

If anxiety shaped your early world, motherhood can feel like walking back through the fire.

But even in that overwhelm, there’s room for gentleness, choice, and slow change.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m writing from my own perspective of the long arc of healing and what it means to find the space to breathe again.

Spring is still yours to claim. If Easter feels hard, you’re not broken — you’re becoming. Here’s how to honor that.

Officially Certified in Perinatal Mental Health
…but the care didn’t start today.

For years, I’ve walked alongside new and expecting parents—through joy, heartbreak, identity shifts, and everything in between.

Now, I’ve taken the final step: I’ve completed the exam and am officially PMH-C certified.

This isn’t about new knowledge. It’s about affirming a deep commitment I’ve carried all along:

- To provide evidence-based, compassionate support
- To hold space for the real, raw experiences of parenthood
- To help you feel seen, supported, and not alone

Whether you’re navigating fertility, loss, postpartum anxiety, birth trauma—or just the everyday overwhelm of being a human raising tiny humans—this certification is for you.

Thank you for letting me be part of your journey.

You are not alone if you have experienced religious trauma, spiritual abuse, or find yourself disillusioned by harmful teachings of high control religion/groups. Gentleness and compassion are two necessary companions as you heal, unlearn, and rediscover who you are.

Lately, I've been noticing a few reoccurring themes in sessions - things many of us are grappling with right now, myself included (hey, I'm a human who just so happens to be a therapist! 🤪)

"Oh, you too?"
"Yeah, me too."

(Note: all of these themes were recreated by this author and in no way reflect any former or current client's circumstances or details. If any resonance is found in these themes, then marvel at the univerality of these issues and the fact that we are not alone, even when we feel most isolated and disconnected)
