A stronger heart shows up in small, noticeable ways: a lower resting heart rate over time, a pulse that settles quickly after climbing stairs, less breathlessness during daily tasks, and steadier energy through the day. Those changes arrive sooner than most people expect. Someone who is sedentary often notices a difference within a month or so. "Within four to six weeks, you're seeing benefit of getting on a regular exercise program," said Mark Peterman, M.D., a cardiologist on the medical staff of Texas Health Plano. "I suggest they start with like 10 minutes twice a day of walking or cycling or whatever they feel like they can do." Read for more:

Weight loss surgery does more than change the number on the scale—it transforms overall health. Dr. James McClintic, a bariatric surgeon on the medical staff at Texas Health Arlington, shares that patients often reduce or eliminate medications, move more easily, and even improve fertility. "We're making your stomach smaller, so you get full with less food and stay full for a longer period of time, because the stomach tissue that we remove is what produces the hormone ghrelin, which causes you to feel hungry," Dr. McClintic explains. Bariatric surgery is a medical treatment for serious health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea. It's designed to help patients live longer, healthier lives.

New weight loss medications have changed how people talk about treating obesity, a chronic medical condition defined by excess body fat that can negatively impact overall health. With GLP-1 medications now easier to get, many assume weight loss surgery is a thing of the past. It is not. For patients...

Start your day right—enjoying 1-2 cups of plain coffee is not just safe for most hearts, it might even be beneficial! ☕❤️ Opt for simple brews over sugary blends and remember that lasting fatigue may mean it’s time to check in on your sleep or fitness routine.

For many people, coffee is as important as the alarm clock. The morning routine is comforting: wake up, brew, sip, repeat. Most of us can’t imagine facing the day without a cup of coffee or two. It’s essential, it’s habit, it’s that first moment of peace before everything else begins.
