We are so excited to announce our newest provider, Dr. Amanda Karp!!

Here is a little about her: I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina before studying biology at Clemson University (goTigers!). I then went to medical school at the University of South Carolina in Greenville, SC where I met my husband, Tanner. We were fortunate to both match to residency programs at Wake Forest University, where he completed anesthesiology and I completed pediatrics training. Following this, I worked for one year as a pediatric chief resident and learned many invaluable leadership skills while exploring the world of medical education. My husband and I knew early on during residency that Winston-Salem was where we wanted to stay long-term. We love how family-friendly the city is and have found an amazing community both at work and church. In my free time, I love to try new coffee shops, exercise at spin classes, find trails to walk with our dog, and sit on the porch and read.

From very early on in medical school, I knew pediatrics was where I found most purpose and
joy. I love taking care of pediatric patients - kids are incredibly resilient, intelligent, and know
how to find silver linings. Additionally, I love partnering with families and working as a team as their kids grow up and face new challenges with each new developmental milestone. Primary
care is a place where I can do the things I love - building relationships and practicing medicine -
all while giving out stickers and hearing about the latest episode of Bluey!
