🐾💜 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 💜🐾
This week, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary technicians and assistants who make such a difference every single day! 🩺🐶🐱

Our technicians and assistants are the ones comforting scared patients, holding paws, monitoring anesthesia, drawing blood, placing catheters, assisting with procedures, answering questions, cleaning up all the things 😂, and somehow managing to keep smiling through it all!

Your compassion, knowledge, patience, and dedication never go unnoticed. You are such an important part of our team and a huge part of the care we provide to every patient who walks through our doors. ❤️
To our amazing veterinary technicians: THANK YOU for everything you do! We appreciate you more than you know! 🐾💜

🚨🐾 RABIES UPDATE 🐾🚨
Rabies activity is continuing here in the Upstate, and we want to make sure our MCAH family is aware.

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Health, there have been 88 confirmed rabies cases in South Carolina so far in 2026.
And we are seeing cases right here in our area.
📍 Anderson County — 9 confirmed cases
📍 Pickens County — 6 confirmed cases
Most recently, TWO skunks in Liberty tested positive for rabies.

Rabies is a deadly but preventable disease, so please take a few precautions:
🐶 Keep your dogs and cats current on their rabies vaccines. If you own livestock, please contact us to determine if a rabies vaccination is appropriate for them.
❤️🐴🐄

🦝 NEVER approach or handle wild or stray animals, even if they appear friendly or injured.
🐾 DON'T allow your pets to interact with wildlife.
👧 Teach children to stay away from unfamiliar animals.

⚠️ If your pet is bitten, scratched, or has contact with an animal that could have rabies, contact your veterinarian and DPH immediately.

Please take a minute to check your pet's rabies vaccine status. If you're not sure when they're due, give us a call! ❤️🐶🐱
Stay safe, stay aware, and give wildlife plenty of space! 🐾

We need your help! ❤️
We are in urgent need of towels and blankets for our patients. These items help keep sick, recovering, and cold animals warm, comfortable, and cared for during their stay with us.
We go through loads of towels and blankets every day, and because of normal wear and tear, some have to be thrown away. Our supply has become very low.
We gladly accept clean, gently used (or new) towels and blankets of any size. If you have extras around your home, we'd be so grateful if you would consider donating them. Every donation makes a difference and will be put to good use.
Thank you for your continued love, kindness, and support. We couldn't do what we do without our amazing community. 💜
