🌶️ Part 2: Strain It!

It’s been sitting, soaking, and pulling all that goodness from those peppers. Now comes the satisfying part — **straining and bottling it!**

In this video, I’ll show you exactly how I strain my cayenne tincture, get every last bit out of those peppers, and turn it into that little brown bottle I always want within reach. 🌶️❤️

No fancy equipment. No complicated process. Just keeping herbalism simple — the way I like it.

Yesterday, I shared why cayenne means so much to me. Today, I’m showing you exactly how I make my homemade cayenne tincture using fresh habanero peppers. 🌶️

This is Part 1—the preparation. Next, I’ll show you how I strain and bottle it.

Why am I so passionate about cayenne? Because one tiny drop changed everything for me more than 25 years ago. This is the story behind that little brown bottle—and why cayenne has never left my side. 🌶️

Next, I’ll show you exactly how I make it.

When I was diagnosed with MS, I thought that’s just the way it goes. Turns out, it wasn’t. Have you ever discovered that something you thought was normal really wasn’t?

Looking back, what makes me sad is that about 20 years ago I had two molars removed because they were so sensitive and painful. At the time, I was relieved to have them gone.

What I didn’t understand then was that the damage didn’t happen overnight. It was likely the result of decades of habits that started when I was young. Sugar was a huge part of my diet growing up. Bread, sweets, and processed foods were everyday staples, and I never connected them to what was happening with my teeth or my health.

I brushed my teeth, but like most people, I relied on store-bought toothpaste. When I first switched to herbal tooth powder, I missed the flavor and foaming action of traditional toothpaste. It took some getting used to.

Today, the tables have completely turned.

After seeing the changes in my teeth and gums, there is no way I would go back to store-bought toothpaste. Not for a million bucks.

The results have been far better than I expected. While I can’t go back and change the choices I made decades ago, I can share what I’ve learned and make different choices moving forward.

Sometimes the greatest lesson isn’t what we lost—it’s realizing we still have the opportunity to change what happens next.

How I Used These Products to Take My Teeth and Gums from Problematic to Much Improved

• Herbal Tooth Powder: First, I wet my toothbrush so the powder would stick. Then I dipped the brush into the herbal tooth powder and brushed as usual.

• Water Flosser & Cayenne Tincture: I filled the reservoir with distilled water and added one full dropperful of cayenne tincture. I used the water flosser daily to help clean around the tooth and remove trapped food particles. I prefer distilled water because it simply tastes better.

• Coconut Oil: You can use it straight from the jar, but I preferred warming it just enough to melt. It only takes a few seconds on the stove, and I don’t use a microwave. For me, swishing warm coconut oil was much more enjoyable than trying to swish a chunk of solid oil around my mouth.

These were the steps I followed while waiting for my dental appointment and have continued since. Within a short time, I noticed less sensitivity to cold and less food getting trapped between my teeth.

Just sharing what I did and what I observed.

These were the three main things I held onto during the whole process.

First was water flossing. Quite a bit, actually. Before all of this happened, things would get lodged between my teeth, so it was almost mandatory. I carried that through using cayenne and water.

Second was brushing with an herbal tooth powder containing herbs traditionally used to support healthy gums and teeth.

Third was occasional oil pulling with coconut oil.

Those three things became my routine while I waited and worked on creating the best foundation possible. Along the way, I’ve noticed less sensitivity and less food getting trapped between my teeth.

Just sharing what I did and what I’ve observed.

Today is my birthday. 🎂

Years ago, a client told me:

“Once you get to a certain age, it’s patch, patch, repair.”

At the time I thought she was kidding.

Turns out she was giving me a preview. 😂

Here’s to another year of patching, repairing, learning, growing, and being thankful I’m still in the game.
