Meet new momma, Heather S. and her family.
BabyFirst Lactation- What was your hardest breastfeeding hurdle to navigate?
Heather-"Probably just the general overwhelm of how much education and information is out there! Every single breastfeeding journey is so different and there are so many variables of different needs women and babies might have. I am the type of person to over research and want to do something perfectly so I put alot of pressure on myself instead of giving myself grace."
Wise words, mommađź’ś

Meet new momma, Kelli and her family.

BabyFirst Lactation: What is your best advice to a pregnant woman?
Kelli: "Ask for help! As women and mothers we want to do it all and sometimes being vulnerable can feel like a failure. There is no shame in leaning on support. Being postpartum can feel very lonely and scary, but there is an entire empowering community of women that have gone through what you are about to go through and can offer a hand."
Great advice, momma!đź’ś

During August and National Breastfeeding Month, we are featuring some of our nursing mothers, and their responses to our breastfeeding survey.

Meet Heather, and her two beautiful daughters.
Question to Heather: Did you meet your personal breastfeeding goals?
Heather: "Truthfully with my first daughter, I was not able to meet my breastfeeding goals. While that was heartbreaking, it set me up for my second daughter to go into my breastfeeding / lactation journey with a whole new mindset and determination. While every journey has its ups and downs, my second has been completely different and I have been able to meet my goal of giving my second daughter only breastmilk."
Good job, mommađź’ś
