Exhausted, but your body still will not settle?
When your body has been under sustained stress, it may stay on high alert even when you are ready to rest. Mental stress, physical stress, sleep habits, eating habits, exercise patterns, and the routine leading into bedtime can all play a role.
That does not mean anything is wrong with you as a person. It means your nervous system and daily rhythm may need a closer look, especially if your body does not feel settled enough to shift into a restful state.
For many people, the helpful question is not simply how to sleep more. It is what keeps the body braced, alert, or overstimulated when it should be winding down.
