Doing my soul work has led me to not only helping others but also living my best life. End of life care and helping someone die their best death is an invaluable gift, and I’m grateful to be able to offer such support.

The Labor Out Conference is bringing together physicians, nurses, hospice professionals, death doulas, funeral directors, social workers, caregivers, and innovators who are passionate about improving how we care for people at the end of life.

This isn’t just a conference.

It’s a movement toward more collaborative, compassionate, and human-centered care.

If your organization serves those navigating aging, serious illness, caregiving, grief, hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life planning, we’d love to have you at the table.

Teaching after-death care is an important part of the job. đź’€

I spend a lot of time holding space for grief, loss, uncertainty, and the hard realities of being human.

When it starts to feel heavy, I return to nature.

No expectations. No fixing. No small talk.

Just quiet reminders that everything has seasons, everything changes, and everything belongs.

Death education changes everything. ❤️

These are the phrases I repeat every day as a death doula because they help families replace fear with understanding and confusion with confidence.

Whether you’re caring for an aging parent, supporting someone on hospice, exploring palliative care, or curious about becoming a death doula, these conversations matter.

A day in the life of a death doula. Holding space while a soul labors out of life.

As a death doula and RN, I spend a lot of time helping families understand what happens at the end of life. Skin breakdown, pressure ulcers, fragile skin, and color changes aren’t signs that someone “wasn’t cared for enough.” They’re often a natural part of how the body shuts down as circulation changes.

The more we understand death, hospice, palliative care, and end of life care, the less fear and guilt families have to carry.

Death education matters. đź’›

Supporting a dying loved one can feel overwhelming, but a few small changes can make a world of difference.

As a death doula and RN, these are some of the lessons I wish every family knew about hospice, end-of-life care, the dying process, caregiver support, and grief.

Save this for later, share it with someone who needs it, and most importantly, don’t forget to work with a death doula!
