Who else can relate?!

I have to make a whole event out of organizing my pills, and ever changing prescriptions/vitamin regimen. Sometimes it feels like a full time job!

Hang in there!

Morning Stability Score!

I’m having so much fun with this thing. Haha. Also you can tell my score is a 5 today!! I’ve got ENERGY!! But I’m back to work tomorrow, so I need to take it easy today.

I am way too long winded to try and keep these reels at 1 minute! 🤣

Bear with me, I want to post more updates but haven’t had the energy. Just keep following and I’ll get to it when I get to it. Trying not to make this page a stressor! After all, it’s all about balance!!

I’m loving nerding out with my new visible energy tracker! I’ll hopefully soon share how it’s been going this first week...

I’m really optimistic about this! Hopefully it ends up really helping me, and many others, with pacing our energy expenditure. This would help prevent crashes, otherwise known as Post Exertion Malaise, when your nervous system is at its limit!

IYKYK that it’s so hard to know what your triggers are and under what circumstances they’ll set you over the limit!

Follow to see updates on how this goes for me!

I’ve noticed this is an indicator that I’m close to the end of my energy envelope!

It tells me that I shouldn’t push it! I’m just gunna do some gentle stretching and maybe some hip PT exercises tonight.

Also the fact that my HR was all over the place today and I COULD NOT stop sweating all day. 🙄

And I know my toes are awful! This is real life, ok???

It’s been a tough time, guys. Bear with me as I rebalance my personal life, work, and activities. ☺️

Also!! You’re gunna get me, AS I AM! I’m too tired to be putting on a show or try to be something that I’m just not. No makeup, T-shirt, messy hair, in my recliner, maybe some residual mascara from yesterday. This is real life!

But I honestly don’t know why I held the phone soooo close. I’ll move it back next time!! 😂

Astronauts experience orthostatic intolerance too!!

Upon reentry to earth, after days-months in zero gravity, astronauts bodies are suddenly forced to figure out how to function again under gravity.

YES! Very similar to the orthostatic intolerance that many people who struggle with chronic illnesses like, POTS, post viral diseases, ME/CFS, TBI, etc.!

Christina Koch may be able to brush it off saying, its’s “not a big deal”, because it’s usually temporary for astronauts. She said after about 2 weeks she feels back to normal.

Unfortunately, this is NOT the same for those of us struggling with autonomic dysfunction. Your nervous system is over/under reacting to everything you do, sending incorrect signals to your body parts. That’s why you can’t always stand up without passing out, or you get a hot flash just because you exerted a little energy, your HR suddenly bounces all over the place, or you just feel in constant fight or flight mode.

She describes it really well for someone who has mild orthostatic intolerance. Unfortunately, so many people have severe, debilitating autonomic dysfunction leaving them bed bound!

I just think it’s cool that even people with chronic illness can relate to astronauts like Christina! Idk about all of you, but my wife and I have been so awe struck by her!

It really is that way, most of the time!

I feel like I really relate to this these days.

Though luckily for me, we got some answers recently that indicate I should be at least improving. As long as I listen to my body and can keep my symptoms down with plenty of rest and pacing of my energy expenditure.

I’ll make a post soon explaining what the answers are, and what they mean. I’ve honestly just been kind of burnt out of putting in effort towards this topic since we found out, so I’ve been procrastinating. But the good news is, I seem to be trending better, and hopefully that’ll continue until I’m back to 100%.
