Earlier this year, our Executive Director Kevin got married, and this summer we found the perfect way to celebrate right here in our community. We invited anyone who wanted to participate to bring in photos from their own weddings, and before long, we had a beautiful display of treasured memories spanning generations.

Kevin shared a slideshow of his favorite moments from his big day, and we wrapped up the celebration with cake, of course. Seeing residents point out their own wedding photos and share the stories behind them was truly special. Love looks different for everyone, but it was clear how much of it fills our community.

A few weeks ago, our community welcomed Sara Reynolds for a fascinating look back in time at the Midlakes One-Room Schoolhouse, a piece of local history located near the Phelps elementary school. Originally built in 1928, the schoolhouse was later relocated and restored, and it's still used today to give visitors a glimpse into what a single classroom held decades ago.

Our residents loved hearing the stories and seeing photos of the schoolhouse and the journey it took to get where it stands now. It's presentations like these that remind us how much history is right in our own backyard.

Round two of our Pizza Picnic adventures took us to Deer Run Park on Canandaigua Lake, where blue skies met even bluer water for an afternoon our residents won't soon forget. Plates piled high with pizza, sunglasses on, toes practically in the sand, it's the kind of outing that reminds us why we love getting our community outdoors.

Goosebumps all around! The Finger Lakes Opera stopped by recently and treated our community to an evening of powerful voices and beautiful piano. From the first note, the room was captivated, and by the end, there wasn't a person who didn't feel moved.

We feel so fortunate to bring performances like this to our residents throughout the year. Music has a way of reaching people that words alone can't, and this was one of those unforgettable afternoons.

What a day! Our annual family picnic filled the lawn with laughter, lawn games, and the smell of the grill firing up all afternoon. So many families joined their loved ones under the tent, sharing stories over plates of good food and glasses of fresh squeezed lemonade. Live music had everyone singing along, and by the end of the day it felt less like an event and more like a big family reunion, because in many ways, that's exactly what it is.

Our residents introduced their families to new friends, reconnected with familiar faces who return year after year, and spent the afternoon soaking up time together in the sunshine. Our staff worked hard behind the scenes to make it all come together, and seeing the joy on every face made it worth every bit of effort.

This is what community looks like: generations coming together, stories being shared, and new memories made. We're grateful for these families, and for every story, laugh, and hug they brought with them. 💚

Our crew took a little road trip to Dipper Dan's in Honeoye Falls for an afternoon of ice cream and sunshine! With its colorful decor and black and white checkered floors, the parlor felt like a fun step back in time. Cones in hand, everyone settled in for a sweet treat and good company. 🍧
