House of John is a two bed comfort care home for the terminally ill with a prognosis of three months or less. The house was rented to us by St.

We opened our doors 30 years ago and have continued to open our hearts, our hands, and our home to those in need. House of John was born in the hearts of two dedicated RNs and nurtured by a very supportive community. The idea was to care for the dying in our communities in a comfortable, home-like setting by trained volunteers and staff. This type of care is an alternative to dying at home or in a

n institutional setting. Felix Church for many years and was eventually purchased by House of John, Inc. Over the years, renovations were made to make the home more comfortable for the residents and their families. A lovely front porch was added and, most recently, a large addition was added to make the home even more accessible to both the community and families by adding to the work and living space. We feel that families can gather in comfort and enjoy the wonderful hospitality House of John has to offer. Our well-trained staff and 85 volunteers are dedicated to the care of the dying and their families. We feel privileged to share in this journey.

House of John is looking for compassionate people willing to give a little of their time to help us continue providing a peaceful, loving home for those at the end of life.

And the commitment may be much smaller than you think.
❤️ Just one or two 4-hour shifts per month
❤️ No set weekly schedule required — choose shifts that work for you
❤️ No medical background or experience necessary
❤️ All training is provided FREE

Our volunteers offer companionship, a comforting presence, a helping hand around the house, and support to our residents and their families. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is simply your time and your presence.

What an incredible golf tournament we had this week at Clifton Springs Country Club! Thank you to all of our generous donors, sponsors, golfers, and volunteers who made the event such a success! Today Sue Conrey retired from her position as Care Coordinator at House of John. The last 4 1/2 years have been filled not only with hard work but with compassion, caring, love, and laughter. You have set the stage so well for Tracie Baxter to take the reins from you. I know you won’t be a stranger to HOJ, and remember there is always two o’clock coffee. All the very best to you. 😘

Our silent auction is LIVE for this year's Golf Tournament! The best part? Anyone can participate, even if you're not present for the tournament!
