One of our favorite things to do at our MCA is recognize the hard work of our providers. Today, we had the pleasure of recognizing several of our providers, for 4 separate incidents, during our quarterly board meeting. Congratulations to Bruce Romeo Fire Department, Clinton Twp. Fire Department, and Medstar Ambulance, and thank you to you all for the hard work you do every day.

Bruce Township Fire Department has been participating in St. Baldricks since 2009, a foundation that is helping find the cure to childhood cancer. Our department has raised over $100,000 by shaving our heads. The money has helped boost survival rates to 96% and create a treatment for B cell ALL cancer (the most common form of childhood cancer) that fits in a backpack that a child can wear. This allows them to have an almost normal life, getting treatment while still being able to attend school, events, play with friends, birthday parties, etc. No longer do they need to stay in the hospital for 28 days while the treatment is happening. This has been a huge breakthrough for childhood cancer. St Baldricks wants to raise awareness for this incredible advancement by having a backpack fundraiser. It's a personal goal where you wear a backpack for 28 days to help raise $2500 (1 dollar for every kid that's diagnosed with this cancer this year). Please support me and donate to our cause so we can continue to help find the end to childhood cancer. Even if you can’t donate personally, please forward this to your company and everyone you know. Every dollar counts so that someday, survival rates can be 100%. Thank you so much for helping support the cause.

Thank you to Lenox Twp. Fire Dept. and Richmond Lenox EMS for inviting the MCA to watch their Trench Rescue training this morning. Having never seen this type of rescue in person, or even a training of this type, it was quite impressive to watch. Great job everyone! Thank you for letting me watch!
