Shoulder pain when reaching overhead isn't always just a shoulder problem.

Stiffness in your mid-back, tight chest muscles, poor posture, or weakness in the muscles that support your shoulder can all place extra stress on the joint, making everyday movements uncomfortable.

Physical therapy treats the whole movement patternโ€”not just the painful area. By improving mobility, building strength, and restoring proper mechanics, you can reduce pain and move with confidence.

If overhead movements are causing pain or limiting your daily activities, contact your nearest Team Rehabilitation clinic. Our physical therapists can identify the source of your pain and create a personalized treatment plan to help you get back to doing what you love.

A huge shout out to our Fort Wayne Clinic for the awesome video!

๐Ÿ’ฅ From Paralyzed to Playoffs: Tracy's Story of Strength, Determination, and Recovery

After a devastating neck injury in 2024 left Tracy partially paralyzed, he faced months of pain, uncertainty, and the possibility that he might never walk independently again. Simple daily tasks became overwhelming, and the road to recovery seemed impossible.

Determined to regain his independence, Tracy began physical therapy at Team Rehabilitation's Mount Clemens/Chesterfield clinic, where he was welcomed by a team that believed in his potential. Through months of hard work, perseverance, and expert care, he progressed from relying on a walker to walking independently again.

Less than a year after his injury, Tracy accomplished a goal many thought was out of reach. He was cleared to return to the baseball field as an umpire and was even selected to officiate the opening round of the state high school district playoffs.

"I simply chalk it up to God, a great medical staff, and a superior rehab team who helped put me back together again."

Tracy's journey is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible with determination, expert care, and a team that believes in you every step of the way.

Who says physical therapy can't be personalized? ๐ŸŽช

One of the best parts of rehab is tailoring treatment to what matters most to each patient. For this patient, who works as a clown, creating balloon animals wasn't just a fun activity; it was functional therapy.

By incorporating real-life job tasks into treatment, we were able to improve grip strength, hand dexterity, coordination, endurance, and the fine motor skills they rely on every day.

The best rehabilitation doesn't just help you feel better, it helps you get back to doing what you love. And in this case, that means creating smiles, one balloon animal at a time. ๐ŸŽˆ

Thank you team Beverly for your awesome work!

TMJ therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that helps relieve jaw pain, improve movement, and restore function.

Treatment may include hands-on techniques, personalized exercises, posture training, and education to reduce pain and improve everyday activities like eating, talking, and smiling. Because the jaw, neck, and upper back work together, physical therapists take a whole-body approach to help patients feel their best.

TMJ therapy may help:

-Ease jaw pain and dysfunction
-Restore normal jaw movement
-Calm stress-related jaw clenching and grinding habits
-Release tight or stiff jaw muscles
-Decrease headaches and facial pain
-Relieve neck and upper back tension
-Make eating, talking, and yawning more comfortable
-Improve posture and overall movement patterns

Wondering if TMJ therapy is right for you?
Ask your physical therapist if TMJ therapy could help address your symptoms and support your recovery.

Roger has spent a lifetime inspiring others - first as a teacher and basketball coach, and now as a senior softball athlete who continues to prove that age is just a number.

After suffering a herniated disc in 2019, Roger underwent surgery with one goal in mind: getting back on the softball field. His physician referred him to Team Rehabilitation in South Carmel, where Noah helped him regain the strength, mobility, and confidence to return to the game he loves.

During therapy, Roger shared that his 85+ senior softball team had lost its sponsor. That conversation led to an introduction to Kari Wood, Director of Marketing and Team Rehabilitation proudly became the team's sponsor. Today, we're honored to support an incredible group of athletes who continue to inspire others with their passion and perseverance.

Roger continues physical therapy to manage peripheral neuropathy, maintain his balance and strength, and keep competing at a high level. Alongside his wife, Sue, who is also benefiting from therapy, Roger is a reminder that staying active can help you continue doing what you love at any age.

Roger, thank you for sharing your story and allowing us to be part of your journey. We're proud to be cheering you on every step of the way! ๐ŸฅŽ

There are few things more meaningful than helping shape the next generation of healthcare professionals, and that's exactly what Shawn does every day.

We're proud to celebrate Shawn for receiving the Warrior Exceptional Clinical Faculty Award from Wayne State University! This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding clinical educators who go above and beyond in mentoring students, advancing patient care, and making a lasting impact on the profession. Out of all the exceptional nominees, only nine individuals were selected for this award.

Since earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Toledo in 2021, Shawn has been dedicated to helping patients move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they love. Whether he's treating orthopedic and neurological conditions, educating his patients, or mentoring future physical therapists as an Associate Professor in The University of Toledo's Doctor of Physical Therapy program, Shawn brings compassion, knowledge, and enthusiasm to everything he does.

Shawn, your passion for helping others extends far beyond the walls of the clinic, and this recognition is a true reflection of the impact you have on your patients, your students, and your colleagues. We are incredibly grateful to have you on the Team Rehabilitation team and couldn't be more proud of this well-deserved achievement.

Congratulations, Shawn! ๐Ÿ‘
