๐ Tomorrow, June 25th, is National Call Congress Day!
Students with disabilities deserve strong protections, clear accountability, and timely access to the supports they need to succeed in school.
That's why disability advocates, families, educators, and organizations across the country are joining together on June 25 to urge Congress to oppose efforts to move special education programs out of the U.S. Department of Education.
If these changes move forward, families could face more confusion, more bureaucracy, and longer delays when seeking services, accommodations, or help resolving disputes.
The good news is that making your voice heard is easy.
Remember, you do not have to be an expert. Congressional offices want to hear directly from constituents. A simple one-to-two-minute call can make a difference.
โ๏ธ Call your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators on June 25 and ask them to keep special education and disability rights protections where they belong: in the U.S. Department of Education.
STEP 1: CALL U.S. Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121 - OR - Find Your Member of Congress: https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member
STEP 2: Ask to be connected to your House of Representative and Senators (**you will need to give them your zip code)
STEP 3: Use our simple call script: CallScript.TheArcCA.org - or - https://tinyurl.com/defendIDEA
Together, our voices can help protect the rights, services, and educational opportunities that students with disabilities rely on every day.
