Let us introduce you to our 2nd Honoree is Mrs Bonnie McDonald
Bonnie will be honored as this year's Gala as one of our Community Leaders
Bonnie J. McDonald, LGSW, LMSW, CACII is a licensed social worker, addiction counselor, behavioral health trainer, and advocate specializing in the intersection of mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and law enforcement response.
Her work focuses on equipping police officers and other first responders with practical skills to recognize behaviors associated with mental illness, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring conditions. Through education and scenario-based training, she emphasizes communication, de-escalation, crisis intervention, disability awareness, and person-centered approaches that promote dignity, safety, and better outcomes for both community members and responders.
