This week has been a whirlwind in the best kind of way!

Earlier this week, I had the honor of attending my 200th birth. It feels surreal to think that two hundred families have welcomed me into one of the most intimate and transformative moments of their lives. What’s even cooler is that every one of those families chose home birth!

Yesterday we had not one, not two, but THREE baby girls born!

I had the first set of TWINS born in my practice! 🤍🤍This mom worked so hard to stay healthy in her pregnancy so that she could have her homebirth. The birth(s) went so beautifully! I couldn’t have done it without the amazing team we had. Big thanks to Sarah, Steph, and Lauren with for all of their help and support. Twin team extraordinaire!

The THIRD sweet girl was born just 45 minutes before my arrival back to them. I can’t tell you how sad I was to miss this birth because it was the ultimate girl party! But I knew I’d left them in the best of hands with Anneliese Schwenneker to care for them. Lots of gratitude for Miranda with for coming to assist Anneliese and help to support this family. It was a first in my practice to have two labors coincide. It wasn’t easy to have my midwife heart in two places at once.

It would be impossible to do this work without the help of this wonderful midwifery community. We felt so held and supported by all of the midwives that rallied with us yesterday. And most importantly, our clients did too. 🤍

200 births, twins, and three girly pops in one day! Grateful for this wild and precious life!

This little March guy taught us all a lesson in patience. He arrived right at 42 weeks, taking his sweet time making his entrance earthside. When he decided to be born he needed a few extra moments and a little gentle support as he came into his body and life outside of the womb.

Much of being a midwife is learning when to sit quietly on your hands and trust the process, and when to step in with skilled support. Birth asks for both wisdom and patience, and this little one reminded us of that beautifully.

And just like that he was here, and is so deeply loved already. 🤍

There is something so beautiful about being in a room with women in all different seasons of motherhood. Mothers expecting their first babes, new mothers learning their little ones, seasoned mothers carrying years of wisdom, and everyone in between. Mothering is some of the hardest work there is, and yet also the most rewarding.

I am feeling so grateful for the chance to slow down today, share stories, laugh, snuggle babies, and simply be seen by one another. Women are so powerful, expansive, nurturing, and wonderful. There is something deeply healing about mothers gathering together in community. I am so honored to be a part of this one.

Getting to hold sweet babies and spend time with these women who have truly become like family to me filled my midwife heart in the best way. What a gift it is to walk alongside so many incredible mothers.

I asked the ladies to write down a few words that describe their mothering journey in this season and these were the responses. Such a great reminder that we are all in this together.

Happy (early) Mother’s Day! 🤍

It has been such a privilege to support this family through the births of five of their six babes. Caring for families in this season of life is always an honor, but walking alongside the same family time and again holds a uniquely special place in my heart. We’ve wrapped the last three in the same towel after birth. How special is that? 🥹

Little Sophie was our third March baby but our first March girl. She was welcomed into her family by her dad, mom, and two very proud big sisters.

When Sophie decided to be born she came very quickly - which was the theme for the month of March. It was such a joy to attend her birth and get to know her sweet family.

Welcome Sophie! May love follow you always!

This little March guy kept us waiting well past his due date, but once he decided to be born, he came quickly. I received a text to come check in during labor, and just forty-five short minutes later he was here! Baby number eight for this family and their first boy in years, after a whole gaggle of sisters. I don’t tear up at births often, but admittedly did when they discovered this little guys gender. The sweetest of moments!

Welcome to the world Thomas! We’re so glad you’ve come! 🤍
