This is my second time trying to post this Reel. Anywho…

This week’s Theme is represented by the Two of Coins. The Challenge comes from The Fall (aka The Tower). Our advice is found in the Ace of Blades. What we need to Know is found in the Four of Scepters. We should Remember some aspect of The Ride (aka The Chariot). Finally, we’re being guided to Consider a lesson from the Seven of Coins.

In summary, this week is about adaptation. We’re going to have to be consciously mindful of how we respond to the unexpected, while maintaining focus on our goals/desired outcomes. We can make meaningful progress and cross significant milestones by doing so.

Here’s a quick mid-week check in reading. The full blog post will be up tonight for my beta readers! But here’s the gist:

Temperance is showing something we should ramp up in the Increase position. Ramp up your creative output, experiment more, and TRUST IN DIVINE TIMING. No matter what you believe Spiritually, there are forces that can work in different dimensions to help or hinder you.

The Ten of Blades is giving us some real talk in regard to what should be decreased as we work through the rest of the week. No feeling sorry for yourself. No spiraling about others’ actions. You only control you. Endings ushered in beginnings all the time.

Finally, The Nine of Vessels says completely release wishful thinking. And don’t try to be the answer to anyone else’s wishes. You’re not a “dream come true,” you are living, breathing magic. Because you take action to affect your life.

Today is the last day to order . Sales will close at 11:59 PM EST today, February 29, 2024.
I started dreaming of creating a deck in 2019. This moment has been a long time coming but I never gave up. When people talked crap about my art, I kept going. When folks started making demands about card stock and borders, I kept going. When I felt overwhelmed, I took breaks to get my mind right, then kept going.
You and your mindset are your own biggest obstacles. But they are completely within your control. As someone who has worked for years to get to this moment, it’s never too late to start working towards your goals. Your path won’t look like anyone else’s because it’s yours. Do you, with a smile.

One of the things I’m most proud of when I pull cards from is how vibrant the colors are. When I initially conceptualized this deck, vibrant colors was one of the defining traits I wanted to incorporate. I was also new to digital art at the time and one of the things regularly hammered into art newbies’ heads is, “Don’t make your colors too vibrant.”
Part of me worried the cards wouldn’t look good in spreads if I chose to go with what I wanted instead of what I was being taught. But now I firmly believe personal art has to be made according to the desires of the artist, not a teacher or any potential future customers.
When I look at these cards all together, not only do they serve the function of tarot cards, but I also love looking at them. Even though I can tell I got better as an artist the further along I got with the deck, I stuck to the rules I set out for myself in the beginning. That makes the art still look consistent, despite the increase in skill.
If you’ve purchased, or are thinking about purchasing a copy of the deck, I hope it fills you with inspiration the same way it does for me. I hope it brings you clarity and advice in ways that feel honest and actionable. I’m so proud of what I’ve created and I can’t wait to see others connect with these cards!

Here’s a little excerpt of the post:
“The first rank of the tarot courts are traditionally known as the Pages. In That Afro Drip Tarot, they’ve been renamed the Students. You work with these cards when they come up in a reading by combining the traits of their rank with the traits of the suit they come from.
“Students, or Pages, represent curiosity and a naive or beginners mindset. They’re sometimes associated with messages or communication. Being the first rank, they have the least experience with life and can be blissfully unaware of the consequences of their actions.”

I pulled cards from today, asking what I need to Know, Remember, and Consider with regard to a goal I set for deck sales before the end of the pre-order period. I adore working with these cards…
The Four of Blades let me know that regular rest and breaks will be required to accomplish what I’ve set out to do. I know this about myself already, but Spirit made sure to point out that grinding and hustling nonstop is simply not an option for me. The need to recharge is real. Honor that.
The Eight of Blades reminded me that there’s no such thing as being stuck or trapped unless you believe you are. There are times when we really have to walk by faith and NOT by sight. Everything you see might trick you into believing your circumstances can’t/won’t change. But what do you FEEL? Lean into that.
The Empress asked me to consider how I nourish myself. What foods do I eat? How do I refill my well of inspiration? What action can I take if I’m feeling spiritually drained or misaligned? Being creative and loving my creations is natural, but I have to make sure I’m doing the right things to facilitate that natural expression in a healthy way.
