🩺 Help Us Build the Future of Healthcare in Clinton!

We are excited to continue expanding workforce education opportunities for our students with the launch of the Clinton High School Nursing & CNA Program this fall through a partnership with the University of Arkansas–North Arkansas College and Ozark Health.

As we prepare our new nursing skills lab, we're working to equip the space with the tools and equipment students will use to gain hands-on experience while earning industry-recognized credentials and preparing for careers in healthcare.

We're currently seeking donations of the following items:

Stethoscopes
Portable mechanical lift
Male and female nursing manikins
Hospital beds
Overbed tables
Bedside tables
Meal trays
Fake food (for patient care training)
Wheelchairs

If you have new or gently used medical equipment or supplies you would like to donate, please contact [email protected] to arrange a drop-off.

Through the support of our partners at Ozark Health, the University of Arkansas–North Arkansas College, and our community, students will receive hands-on training that prepares them for careers in nursing, long-term care, hospitals, and other healthcare professions. Every donation helps create a learning environment that mirrors today's healthcare settings and ensures our students graduate with the skills and confidence to succeed.

Celebrating Student Success: Future Healthcare Leaders!

Please join us in congratulating Anslie Leslie, Bella Long, Adalyn Hall, and Kenzie Henderson for successfully completing the MASH program last week at Ozark Health!

Throughout the week, these dedicated students immersed themselves in the medical field, exploring a wide variety of healthcare professions and gaining valuable, hands-on insight into potential future careers. In addition to their career exploration, we are proud to share that they also successfully earned their CPR certification.

Thank you to Ozark Health for partnering with our district to provide this incredible real-world learning experience. We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, curiosity, and commitment to their future goals!

West Side Class of 2027 students Lainee Gentry and Whitley Goodson recently attended the MASH (Medical Applications of Science for Health) Camp at Ozark Health in Clinton.

MASH is designed to introduce high school students to the many careers available in healthcare through hands-on learning, job shadowing, and interaction with healthcare professionals.

Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of engaging activities and presentations, including:

🦷 Learning about dental health from Dr. Kyle Hensley
🧠 Exploring the UAMS Telestroke Program
🎨 Creating tie-dye MASH camp shirts
🏥 Learning about general surgery and anesthesia from Dr. Dickinson, Trey Martin, CRNA, and Brooke Keith, APRN
🍎 Hearing from Hospice Home Care and Tabitha, Dietitian from Arkansas Children’s Hospital
🩺 Practicing suturing with Dr. Chad Simpson, a camp favorite!
🧼 Completing hand hygiene and infection prevention activities
👩‍⚕️ Exploring advanced practice nursing with Katie Dunham, APRN, Kayla Dollar, APRN, and Elizabeth Black, APRN
🐾 Discovering veterinary medicine careers with Dr. Deborah Brennan, DVM, MPA
🎓 Learning about medical school opportunities through presentations and activities led by Chris and Amy from UAMS
❤️ Hearing about Ozark Health’s Auxiliary and Volunteen programs from Kristi King
👶 Learning about NICU nursing and advanced practice nursing from Macy Massey, APRN
🚑 Participating in mock emergency medical drills
📋 Working toward and completing BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

On day 4 of MASH students continued shadowing in various departments throughout the facility. The also spoke with Macy Massey, APRN about NICU nursing as well as advanced practice nursing. And the afternoon was spent getting BLS certified.
