Ear infection = antibiotics? Not necessarily! 👂💙
It's easy to assume that an ear infection automatically means a prescription for antibiotics, but Dr. Jennifer Wagner says that's not always the case.
Many childhood ear infections are caused by viruses and can resolve on their own. Because antibiotics treat bacterial infections, they aren't helpful for every ear infection.
That's why having your child evaluated can be so important. Your pediatrician can look at the whole picture, including your child's symptoms and exam, and help determine whether antibiotics are actually needed.
At Inspire Integrative Pediatrics, we believe pediatric care should be individualized to the child in front of us. The goal isn't simply to treat a symptom. It's to understand what's happening and choose an appropriate treatment for your child's needs.
If your little one is dealing with ear pain or other sick-day symptoms, Inspire offers same-day sick visits for members, along with the time to talk through your questions and concerns.
Thoughtful care. Personalized treatment. A pediatrician who has time to listen. 💙
