Spending time on the water is fun, but just like in the car, there are important safety rules everyone must follow. Let’s talk about one of the big ones: always wearing a life jacket.

Life jackets are a lot like seatbelts, they only work when they’re worn correctly. Here are a few steps to ensuring that your child’s life jacket is a safe fit:

🛟 Check for a Coast Guard-approved label, typically found on the lining of the life jacket.
🛟 Make sure the life jacket has a crotch strap, and fits snugly.
🛟 Get your child used to the life jacket ahead of time, before you’re near the water.
🛟 Keep your child close by and supervised at all times, even when they’re wearing their life jacket.

The July Family Fun in the Park schedule is here!

From June through September, our Clovis Recreation Division is bringing our Mobile Recreation Trailer to parks across our city. Packed with games, sports gear, arts and crafts, and other fun activities, this free program brings recreation directly to your local park and offers a safe environment for children to have fun.

Kids of all ages are invited to stop by, play, and enjoy guided activities led by our friendly recreation staff. No registration needed – just show up and have fun! We hope to see you there!
