Ruth Marie Jones

Ruth Marie Beanblossom Whitney Jones, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 93, at her daughters home in Clovis, New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 25, 2026, at Hugunin Family Funeral Home in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Ruth was born on May 17, 1933, in Burr Oak, Kansas, to Leo and Marie (Hansen) Beanblossom. She graduated from high school where she served as head cheerleader and was active in 4-H and Home Economics.

Ruth first married Morris Corbett, and together they had two sons, Marvin and Alan. Following their divorce, she moved to Phillipsburg. While singing in the Methodist church choir, she met Charles Whitney. On their first date, Ruth asked Charlie, "why are your eyes so red?" Charlie replied, "yours would be too if you drove a tractor all day." That memorable exchange marked the beginning of a loving partnership. Ruth and Charles were married on September 29, 1957, and shared 36 years together. Charles adopted Marvin and Alan, and their family grew to include three daughters: Shirley, Marcia, and Mary.

Ruth was a woman of many talents and strong faith. She loved crocheting and maintained a lifelong devotion to God and Jesus Christ. She graduated from Brown-Mackie Business School in Salina, Kansas, and worked a variety of roles throughout her life, including chiropractic receptionist and secretary, school bus driver, and cook in the Phillips County Hospital kitchen. Never one to stop learning, Ruth later graduated from Hays Academy of Hair Design and fulfilled her dream of owning and operating Ruth's beauty Parlor in Phillipsburg. Ruth endured significant hardship early in life. When she was five years old, tragedy struck her family when her brother Bobby drowned, her sister Barbra, was struck on a county road, and her mother lost a full term baby. These experiences helped shape the resilience and faith that defined Ruth throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bobby, her sister Barbra husbands Charles Whitney and Kenneth Jones; her son, Alan Whitney, Her son-in-law, Joel Ti**le; her sister Lo**ta Silsby; and two great grandchildren, Harley and Audra.

Ruth is survived by her children; Marvin and Jane Whitney of Kensington, Kansas, Becky Whitney of Prairie View, Kansas; Roger and Shirley Van Loenen of Prairie View, Kansas; Marcia Ti**le of Clovis, New Mexico; and Mary and Al Lutz of Sulpher Springs, Texas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Heather, Melissa, Justin, Cameron, Christopher, Jessica, Beau, Lee, Shaley, Seth, Crystal, Audrey, and Morgan; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild expected soon.

Memorial contributions to Hospice services.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23

Christopher Ray Robertson

With profound sadness, we announce the tragic passing of Christopher Ray Robertson, age 38, of Amarillo, Texas, on May 4, 2026.

Chris was born on September 13, 1987, in Portales, New Mexico. Raised in Clovis, New Mexico, he graduated from Clovis High School in 2007.

Chris was known for his strong work ethic, and his early jobs took him to Santa Fe and Albuquerque. In the mountains of central New Mexico he discovered a passion for rock and wall climbing. The sport's demands for partnership, trust, careful risk management, route finding, strength, and flexibility made it a perfect fit for him.

In 2017, Chris followed his dream of opening the Clovis Rock Gym, a venture into which he poured his heart and soul. He loved sharing his passion for climbing with his hometown community and partnered with many local businesses along the way. After the gym closed in 2022, Chris continued his career with Lowe's Home Improvement, serving in management positions in both Clovis and Amarillo.

Chris was an entrepreneur, a risk-taker, and someone who loved making people smile - sometimes while wearing a costume. He enjoyed spending time with friends, working out at the gym, and dancing the night away. He was a leader, a mentor, and held a safe space for so many people. He was an incredible dog dad, and a devoted son and brother.

The only thing bigger than Chris's biceps was his heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chris is survived by his parents, Wes and Linda Robertson; his sister, Michelle Robertson; his uncle, Larry Seamer (Margaret); cousins Bryan Seamer (Rebecca) and George Seamer (Elena); second cousins Henry and Quinn; and his beloved dog, Nismo.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joel and Bette Steiner and Harold and Mary Robertson; his aunt, Kathleen Seamer; and his beloved dog, Saphira.

A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held on Saturday, June 6, in the courtyard of the Red Door on Main in Clovis, New Mexico at 3:00 pm. Outdoor seating may be limited, please bring a chair if you like. We plan to honor him in a way he would truly enjoy - so bring your dancing boots and please stay a while after the formal celebration.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Aggie Wranglers or the American Mountain Guides Association to help inspire and support future generations of country swing dancers and climbers.
