Thinking about starting therapy? 💭
You don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough.” Therapy can be a space to understand yourself better, work through what’s been weighing on you, learn healthier ways to cope, and simply have a place where you can be heard.
Starting can feel intimidating—but taking that first step can be the beginning of meaningful change. 🌿
If you’ve been thinking about therapy, maybe this is your sign to start. 🤍

🎒 Back-to-School Anxiety Is Real — and Your Child May Not Know How to Say It 💛
A new school year can bring excitement, but it can also bring worry, fear, and uncertainty.
Back-to-school anxiety may look like:
😣 “My stomach hurts” or “I don’t feel good”
😴 Trouble sleeping before school
😭 Crying or becoming more emotional
😠 Irritability, frustration, or tantrums
🤍 Clinginess or not wanting to separate from caregivers
🏫 Asking to stay home or avoiding school
💭 Worrying about teachers, friendships, grades, or fitting in
How can parents help?
🌿 Listen before trying to fix the problem.
🌿 Validate their feelings: “It makes sense that you’re nervous about something new.”
🌿 Get back into school-day routines.
🌿 Talk about what they can expect and what is within their control.
🌿 Remind them that they don’t have to handle big feelings alone.
And remember: behavior is communication. Sometimes “I don’t want to go to school” really means “I’m scared and I don’t know how to tell you.”
If your child’s anxiety is interfering with school, sleep, friendships, or daily life, additional support may help. 💚
At Latino Commission, we believe asking for mental health support is a sign of strength.

✨ It is chic to take care of your mental health. ✨
Going to therapy. Talking about your feelings. Asking for help. Choosing peace. 💚
Taking care of your mental health doesn’t have to be something we hide or feel ashamed of. Pedir ayuda es valentía. Hablar sana. Elegir tu paz también es cuidarte.
Together, we can normalize conversations about mental health, challenge stigma, and remind our community that healing is something to be proud of. 🌿
Because taking care of your mind will always be in style. ✨
¿Y tú? What would you add to “It is chic to…”? Tell us in the comments. 👇🏽

Confidence doesn’t happen overnight—it grows through everyday experiences. 💛
As parents and caregivers, the way we respond to challenges, mistakes, and small successes can help children develop confidence both at school and at home.
Simple things can make a difference:
✨ Give children opportunities to do things independently.
✨ Praise their effort and persistence—not just the outcome.
✨ Encourage them to think through small problems before stepping in to solve them.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping children learn that they are capable of trying, learning, making mistakes, and trying again.
💬 What’s one way you help build your child’s confidence? Share it in the comments.
If your child or family could use additional support, our behavioral health team is here to help.
