Have faith!
This is a good, positive event from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 1) in Melbourne for students and their families.
Faith Builders is putting on Back to School Pray and Play at 2911 Bruce Dr. Buggs St. in Melbourne.
There will be food vendors, face painting, cotton candy, a bounce house and community resources - most notable is the Brevard Health Alliance (BHA) Mobile Medical Unit.
BHA is providing free medical and dental services, including sports physicals and annual physicals.
It's a great way to prepare for the upcoming school year!

Either way, the Brevard Schools Foundation makes sure they're starting off well supplied.
The Space Coast Health Foundation and Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard were fortunate to be part of the Brevard Schools Foundation School Blast Off on Saturday!

Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital and are teaming up to expand access to specialized medical equipment for sea turtle rehabilitation along the Space Coast.

Orlando Health's Endoscopy Unit has donated equipment and instruments to the East Coast Zoological Foundation (ECZF) Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center at Brevard Zoo to better able to remove foreign objects in animals with unique anatomies like sea turtles.

The collaboration helps turtles, of course, but it also creates new opportunities for collaboration between the zoo’s board-certified veterinarians and Orlando Health physicians with joint expertise in minimally invasive gastroenterology procedures.

“We’re honored to collaborate with Brevard Zoo’s veterinary team by providing this specialized equipment,” said Dr. George Christophi, gastroenterologist at Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital. “By sharing our expertise, we can help support the veterinary team at Brevard Zoo to ensure the sea turtles in need continue to receive the most accurate, effective surgical care and improve their chances of recovery.”

The donated equipment will support the diagnosis and treatment of sea turtles suffering from ingested fishing hooks and, fishing line, and other gastrointestinal complications — a growing issue impacting marine wildlife.

The Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County (ELC Brevard) is hosting 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐀𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐀 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday (July 18) its Melbourne office, 2671 W. Eau Gallie Blvd, Melbourne.

The free community event is designed to inspire a love of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) through hands-on experiences for young children and their families while celebrating the grand opening of ELC Brevard's new STEAM Hub.

This event is sponsored in part by Fifth Third Bank, the Community Foundation, and Florida Department of Arts and Culture.

Family activities include:
• A special ribbon-cutting celebration for ELC Brevard's new STEAM Hub, featuring our Flight Lab and Light Table with demonstrations by Kodo
• A visit from our friends at NASA
• Hands-on STEAM exploration stations, including coding for kids, Air Toobz, sink-or-float experiments, and other interactive learning experiences
• A kid-friendly paint-your-own canvas art class presented in partnership with Florida Department of Arts and Culture, Painting Smiles for Brevard, and the Brevard Hispanic Society
• Drone Discovery with Bernard Bryan
• Balloon artist
• Free STEM-themed giveaways, including mini solar-powered robots and children's STEM books (while supplies last)
