Just over a year ago, I made the difficult decision to step away from caregiving.
Caring for individuals in the final chapters of their lives is an incredible honor. I built close, meaningful relationships with my clients and their families. As many of them passed, the repeated loss affected me deeply. I realized I needed time to process that grief and take care of my own mental health.
On November 16, 2025, I also lost my mother. That experience further deepened my understanding of how important compassionate, patient-centered care truly is, especially for those living with Dementia and the families walking alongside them.
This year, I’m preparing to return to caregiving on a part-time basis while updating my certifications.
In addition, I’m working on creating a free program for individuals living with Dementia. The goal is to offer a safe, mentally stimulating monthly gathering that will grow into a weekly space, giving participants meaningful engagement while providing their families and full-time caregivers a much-needed rest.
Caregiving has always meant more to me than a job. It’s connection, dignity, and presence. I’ve missed the relationships deeply, and I’m excited to step back into this work in a balanced and intentional way.
I’ll continue to share updates as I move forward.
Of course! If you need me or you have questions or even suggestions for my program, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.
