Goodbye to Drugs letter from one of our men beginning their recovery journey.
Goodbye To Drugs
Dear drugs, or for at one point in my life was my personal favorite "m**h and feti". I don't miss the high waking up with black circles around my eyes, head up and down nodding, black outs looking up at one place, being in one place, crash out waking up in another. Cold sweats, lonely nights itching for more, meeting shady people, doing pretentious things, robbing people or selling more for the drugs or money. Seeing blue and red lights that personally won't miss, not knowing what clear-mindedness feels like being clogged by the fog of the drugs that single handedly ruined my life!
However dear drugs, that was just a phase! That my not-so friend was temporary. I am stronger than you, wiser than you, and motherf**kin better than the hold you had over me. You hold no power over me.
Nice to meet the old you, now it is time to meet the new me: a newer, stronger, better man for my friends, my family, my potential, my need for faith. I am free and clear and don't want anything in my past that wanted a hold over my life and wanted me dead.
By the grace of whatever is looking out for me, whatever sees my purpose and my being, I am thankful, for I am alive and free of you. I won't ever miss you, so this is goodbye.
