The community’s local nonprofit providing palliative care, hospice care, and grief support. We have the only hospice house in Idaho, the Schneidmiller House. 💙

We serve Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah and South Bonner counties since 1981. We are the community's nonprofit Hospice, providing end-of-life care and support for over 40 years. We serve Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah, and South Bonner counties. We also have the only hospice inpatient unit, The Schneidmiller House, in Idaho. With a 6-acre campus in Coeur d'Alene, a Community Services Building, and a Hospice Thrift Store in Post Falls, we provide comfort, education, and support for the North Idaho community.

Happy Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week! 🧑‍🍳❤️

This week, we're celebrating our incredible chefs, Jamee, Kathy, and Corrine, whose meals bring comfort, care, and a sense of home to the Schneidmiller House.

From patients' favorite dishes and homemade entrées to freshly baked treats and from-scratch soups, they nourish more than just the body. They create moments of warmth and normalcy for patients, families, staff, volunteers, and community members.

Thank you for all you do to make every meal, and every day, a little more comforting. 💙

We are incredibly proud of our Clinical Supervisor, Tara, RN, who recently attended the Nightingale College Flame Forward Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, focused on nursing education, leadership, and professional growth. 🩺🤝

This year, Tara had the honor of serving as a panel speaker, sharing her expertise on rural nursing and the unique challenges and rewards of providing care in rural communities. During the discussion, she highlighted the differences in care dynamics between rural and urban settings, while also bringing attention to the important roles of caregiving, grief support, and compassionate end-of-life care.

Tara's passion for nursing leadership and advocacy not only reflects her commitment to continued learning but also helps shine a light on the exceptional care being provided right here in our North Idaho community.

For over four decades, Hospice of North Idaho has been a compassionate presence in our community, providing expert end-of-life care that honors dignity and comfort. Their dedicated team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers supports not just patients, but entire families through life's most tender transitions. What many don't know: their grief support services are available to anyone in our community who's experienced loss—completely free of charge. Last Friday, the Hayden Eagles #4080 hosted their 19th Annual Golf Tournament at the CDA Public Golf Course in support of our organization. ⛳️

With 13 teams out on the course, it was a full day of fun, community, and generosity. We are honored and grateful that Hospice of North Idaho was chosen as the beneficiary of their annual event. Every dollar raised goes directly toward our mission. 🏌🏻🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

❄️Grief in the Holidays Workshop - Save the Date!❄️

This is a workshop designed for those who have experienced loss to have an intentional space to acknowledge how grief may impact the holidays and all the expectations that come with them.

Attendees will be affirmed in developing a plan for managing their grief during this time. Attendees will be encouraged to develop a creative plan B to have on hand if needed.

Registration is required, and this workshop is free to attend.
