“Remember this, for it is as true as true gets: Your body is not a lemon. You are not a machine. The Creator is not a careless mechanic. Human female bodies have the same potential to give birth well as aardvarks, lions, rhinoceri, elephants, moose, and water buffalo. Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body.

One of the local midwives is studying freebirth, if you want to ask more questions or participate in the study, here you go! I know nothing more than that on it.

Yesterday early in the day of our long clinic day I told my student Bri “someone in our care has twins and we don’t know it yet, I just feel it.” I thought it was going to be one mom, but we did a scan and it wasn’t.
Well, later in the day we went to a visit and the mom said “I just think it’s twins, so much so that I would be really surprised if it was one” and Bri looked at me like I was a crazy person lol 😂
Who wants to guess if in the next couple weeks we find out that mama and I were right or not?

When I tell moms that I’ve seen equal results to IV iron infusions (which are high risk for anaphylaxis and I don’t recommend them in most cases) as with Thorne advanced iron complex (used to be ferrasorb)- this is what I mean. This ofcourse was also with a lot of dietary shifts. When it’s not so urgent sometime I want to test just nutrition and see how quickly that can work (ofcourse every body is different but raw data would be nice).
The difference of 12 days 😳 even though I know this works, it still blows my mind every time.
There are a few moms in our care right now that have similar results without the dietary shifts though, but it did take longer.

We had a very rough birth this month, hospital transfer from a planned home birth. The dad is a medical malpractice attorney and this was the text he sent me after the birth.

One of the biggest reasons my care was so good for this client wasn’t my skills, it was that when I felt uneasy I brought it to God in prayer and asked for absolutely clear direction and He provided that.
Midwives should be incredibly skilled, and very educated, you never know what we will deal with…. And my skills and knowledge has absolutely saved lives. But, more than that we should have enough humility and spiritual sensitivity to know when we can’t possibly know everything and we need clear divine guidance.

There was a pregnant client years ago that I was very worried about and I brought to prayer alot, every single time I heard “you’re not the midwife, I am” and I felt peace so I didn’t transfer her out. Well, come time for her birth and she went so fast that I wasn’t there for her birth, I had them on the phone and was praying for a smooth birth and I was reminded about that, I smiled so big flying down the freeway remembering that He was the midwife and I didn’t need to worry about her ❤️ all was well and I got a good reminder to keep praying for all of my clients, even the ones I don’t worry about ❤️
