We had a very rough birth this month, hospital transfer from a planned home birth. The dad is a medical malpractice attorney and this was the text he sent me after the birth.
One of the biggest reasons my care was so good for this client wasn’t my skills, it was that when I felt uneasy I brought it to God in prayer and asked for absolutely clear direction and He provided that.
Midwives should be incredibly skilled, and very educated, you never know what we will deal with…. And my skills and knowledge has absolutely saved lives. But, more than that we should have enough humility and spiritual sensitivity to know when we can’t possibly know everything and we need clear divine guidance.
There was a pregnant client years ago that I was very worried about and I brought to prayer alot, every single time I heard “you’re not the midwife, I am” and I felt peace so I didn’t transfer her out. Well, come time for her birth and she went so fast that I wasn’t there for her birth, I had them on the phone and was praying for a smooth birth and I was reminded about that, I smiled so big flying down the freeway remembering that He was the midwife and I didn’t need to worry about her ❤️ all was well and I got a good reminder to keep praying for all of my clients, even the ones I don’t worry about ❤️
