College move-in day isn't just about boxes and dorm rooms. It's a transition-for students, parents, siblings, and families. You might feel excited for what's next while also grieving what's changing. That's normal. Big life transitions ask a lot from us emotionally, even when they're positive. If this season feels heavier than expected, you're not alone. Sometimes the biggest adjustment isn't unpacking your things-it's adjusting to a new version of everyday life.

Sometimes taking care of people starts with taking care of each other. 🌅

A few of our Ellie Mental Health North Idaho therapists traded the office for the lake last night - good food, a sunset, a boat ride on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and some time together outside of work.

We’re proud of the clinical work our therapists do every day, but we’re equally proud of the team and culture we’re building around them.

Great therapists deserve a place where they can do meaningful work, be themselves, and actually enjoy the people they work alongside.

And yes... living and working in North Idaho has its perks. ☀️🚤

We’re growing. If you’re a therapist looking for your next professional home, we’d love to meet you.

Emotional regulation is one of those phrases we hear a lot, but it doesn't mean staying calm all the time or never having big feelings. It means noticing what's happening inside you, making space for those emotions, and having more choice in how you respond. Some days that might mean taking a break before replying to a text. Other days it might mean recognizing you're overwhelmed and asking for help. It's a skill, not a personality trait. And like any skill, it can grow with practice and support.

The way a coach responds after a mistake can stick with a young athlete long after the game is over. Emotionally safe coaching isn't about lowering expectations-it's about helping kids learn, grow, and keep showing up with confidence. That's a win that lasts beyond the season.

School anxiety doesn't always look like worry. Sometimes it looks like stomachaches before school, frustration over little things, wanting to stay home, or coming home completely drained. Every child responds differently to stress, and these behaviors don't automatically mean anxiety. But they can be an invitation to slow down, ask questions, and stay curious about what your child may be experiencing. If school-related worries continue or start affecting daily life, talking with a mental health professional may help your family better understand what your child needs.

Success in youth sports isn't only about the final score. It's also about learning how to handle setbacks, encouraging teammates, building confidence, and discovering what you're capable of. Those moments may not show up on the scoreboard, but they can shape how young athletes approach challenges both on and off the field. As another season gets underway, celebrate the wins that can't be measured in points.

One sport. One identity. One bad season away from burnout.

Normalizing mental health means young athletes get to keep loving the game, not just performing it. Strong mind, strong body, on and off the field.
