This week marks the beginning of National Infertility Awareness Week—a time that may feel long and heavy for some, yet deeply meaningful and important for others.

The journey through infertility can often feel isolating and lonely, but resources and support systems, like NRM, are here to help guide you every step of the way. There is no one-size-fits-all experience—every path is unique, shaped by individual stories, emotions, and challenges.

If you are navigating infertility, know that you are seen, you are heard, and your experience matters.

If you know someone on this journey, be there for them—offer a shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold, and understanding. They may not always want to talk, or they may only want to talk about what they’re going through—and both are okay.

Above all, it’s important that those experiencing infertility feel supported, heard, and validated.

Did you know infertility affects 1 in 6 individuals? That’s millions of people navigating a journey that can feel overwhelming and, at times, isolating. But there’s meaningful progress—The American Society for Reproductive Medicine has redefined infertility to be more inclusive, recognizing that all individuals, regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity, deserve equal access to reproductive care.

April 19th through the 25th is National Infertility Awareness Week, and our NRM team is here to raise awareness, empower, and support every path to parenthood.

There’s no one-size-fits-all journey. For some, it may include treatments like IUI or IVF. For others, it could mean planning ahead with egg freezing, or building a family through donor eggs, donor s***m, or a gestational carrier.

Great news! We are excited to share that we are now offering nitrous oxide for our patients seeking pain and anxiety relief during office procedures. There is no down time, and you only need to wait a short time after to drive home. If you want to learn more, please reach out to your nurse or discuss with your provider at your next consult.

Special shoutout to Olympian Paula Moltzan and WCAX for their inspiring interview on what it takes to own your future!

From the dedication required to be an Olympic alpine skier to the importance of preserving fertility for the future, Paula shared powerful insights into balancing career goals with personal dreams — continuing to chase excellence on the slopes while keeping the door open for parenthood.

The interview also featured Dr. Jenny Brown, who discussed the “biological clock” and how it can be paused through egg freezing and fertility preservation. Through hormonal stimulation, multiple follicles can mature at once, allowing eggs to be retrieved and frozen for future use.

Many young people are unaware of how crucial it can be to preserve fertility options early — and NRM is proud to partner with and support Paula as she races toward the World Cup and continues to inspire others to take charge of their futures!
