Sometimes the best mental health advice sounds a lot like an old Nike commercial:
Just do it.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because you feel motivated.
Not because you’re 100% ready.
Because action often comes before motivation.
One of the biggest mistakes we make is waiting to feel different before we behave differently. We tell ourselves:
“I’ll exercise when I feel motivated.”
“I’ll make the call when I feel confident.”
“I’ll go out when I feel less anxious.”
“I’ll start when I feel ready.”
But our behavior shapes our thoughts and feelings far more than we realize.
You can’t always think your way into right action.
Many times, you have to act your way into right thinking.
Take the walk.
Make the call.
Go to the event.
Start the project.
Your feelings may not change first.
Your actions might be what changes them.
