Small, consistent steps can make a real difference towards taking care of your mental health.

A short walk, a phone call with a friend, keeping a routine, or simply getting outside for fresh air can help support mood and build resilience over time.

And when those steps do not feel like enough, having extra support can help. You do not have to figure it out alone.

Coleman County Medical Center’s Senior Life Solutions provides support for older adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. If someone you know is struggling, reaching out can make a difference.

This National Nurses Week, we proudly celebrated the incredible nurses of Coleman County Medical Center, Coleman Medical Associates, and Coleman Home Health and Hospice! 💙

Our nurses were treated to refreshing lemonade from the Chillin Chicas, received gift bags filled with fun goodies — including much-needed energy drinks and loaded teas — and enjoyed painting flower pots and planting seed paper as a reminder of the growth, care, and compassion they bring to others every day. 🌼

Special thank you to Sacred Cross EMS for providing pulled pork sandwiches for our day/night shift nurses! 🍔

Hospital nurses were also introduced to their new mascot — a calming fish — created to bring a little peace, positivity, and comfort during even the busiest and most chaotic moments in the ER. 🐟✨

And, of course, no Nurses Week celebration would be complete without a little fun! We held a poll to crown the nurse most deserving of the title **“Chaos Coordinator”** — recognizing the one who can juggle the unexpected, manage the madness, and somehow keep everything moving! Congratulations to **Stacy Mauricio, RN**, our official *Chaos Coordinator* winner! 👑🎉

Thank you to each and every nurse for your dedication, compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to caring for our community. Your work changes lives every day, and we are honored to celebrate you!

Happy National Nurses Week to our healthcare heroes!

These experiences are common, but they are not something you have to accept without support.

Many older adults grew up in a time when mental health was not openly discussed. As a result, myths like “I should handle this on my own” or “this is just part of getting older” can make it harder to reach out.

The truth is that support can make a meaningful difference. Depression, anxiety, and grief are treatable, and no one has to navigate them alone.

Coleman County Medical Center’s Senior Life Solutions supports older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, or loneliness. Starting the conversation can be the first step toward feeling better.

Today, during CCMC’s week-long celebration of nurses, we dedicate May 8th to Mary Anderson.

Mary attended one of the original nursing school classes at Overall Memorial Hospital and began caring for the people of Coleman in June of 1965. For more than 56 years, she faithfully served Coleman County with compassion, strength, and grace.

Mary was truly the definition of a nurse. She showed up for her patients during the happiest moments of their lives and during their most difficult days. She taught all of us the meaning of character, compassion, and commitment.

We will always consider Mary the true example of what it means to be a nurse.

Today, she goes to be with those she cared for and those she loved. We know the Lord welcomes her with open arms.

Thank you, Mary, for your lifetime of service to Coleman County.

Rest in peace, Mary.
