When we first met Dior, she was battling demodectic mange (Demodex) and her skin showed just how much she had been through.

Thanks to some treatment, some meds, parasite prevention, and a whole lot of TLC from her amazing foster family… look at Dior today! 🥹❤️

Healthy skin. Beautiful coat. Bright eyes. And those ears still doing their own thing! 😂

Demodex is caused by microscopic mites that live in the hair follicles. When they multiply excessively, they can cause hair loss, redness, scaling and skin infections.

And yes… that is her very official title around here. 😂

Mayah brings the kind of energy every veterinary hospital needs: she’s social, goofy, encouraging, and somehow always knows when the room needs a little light. But the good vibes aren’t just for fun. She uses that energy to help our patients feel safer, our clients feel comfortable, and our team feel supported.

With seven years in veterinary medicine and currently continuing her education in veterinary technology, Mayah brings experience, heart, and a whole lot of personality to Legacy.

Around here, we believe taking great care of animals also means taking great care of the people attached to them — and Mayah fits right into that mission.

We’re so happy she’s here. 🥹

Privately owned. Independently operated. And yes… that actually means something. 🖤

With all the recent conversation around private equity and veterinary medicine, we thought this was a good time to share what independent ownership actually looks like at Legacy.

Legacy is locally owned by people who actually work inside Legacy.

No parent company. No investment group. No giant corporation somewhere else making decisions about how we practice medicine or run our hospital.

The people with ownership in this hospital are also the people showing up to work here, taking care of patients, supporting our team, talking to clients, solving problems…and occasionally wondering who forgot to order something. 😂

And this isn’t about saying one model of veterinary medicine is better than another. There are incredible doctors and teams doing great work in corporate, private, nonprofit, and independently owned practices.

This is simply who we are.

Our decisions are made here.
Our growth is personal.
Our community matters to us because it’s our community.

And when something needs to change, we don’t have to call headquarters. 😂

We’re still growing. Still learning. Still building.

But we’re ours.

Today was a special day for Legacy! 🐾☕❤️

We officially kicked off Legacy Connects with our very first community collaboration with Drip-Thru Coffee and we couldn’t have asked for a better start!

For us, Legacy has always been about more than veterinary medicine. It’s about taking care of families, loving their pets, supporting our neighbors, and being part of the community we serve.

Today was a great example of exactly that. Good people, happy pups, lots of pup cups, a little coffee, and plenty of smiles. 🐶☕️

A huge THANK YOU to Drip-Thru Coffee for partnering with us, the amazing staff that went above and beyond, as well as everyone that stopped by, said hello, brought their pups, and helped make our first Legacy Connects event such a great day.

This is just the beginning. ❤️
