When most people hear the word grief, they think about death.

But grief is bigger than that.

It's divorce.
It's miscarriage.
It's estrangement.
It's losing a job you thought would carry you into retirement.
It's becoming a version of yourself you never planned to be.
It's saying goodbye to a future you thought was certain.

The truth is, grief shows up anywhere loss does.

And too many people are carrying those losses alone because nobody ever told them they were allowed to grieve them.

That's why I created Grief In Real Life.

Not as another lecture.
Not as another place to be told to "stay strong."

A room for honest conversations.
A room for people carrying things they haven't had words for.
A room where grief, in all its forms, has somewhere to go.

Most of us learned the rules of grief without anyone ever saying them out loud.
Be strong. Don’t cry. Keep moving. Don’t make people uncomfortable.
And somehow… heal in silence.

But those unspoken rules are exactly why so many people feel stuck, overwhelmed, or ashamed of what they’re carrying.

Grief In Real Life — June 13
A one‑day experience where we name what’s been unnamed, challenge the old rules, and give you real language, real tools, and real understanding for what you’ve been navigating.

We’re keeping this gathering intentionally small.
Only 35 seats.

If you’re coming with colleagues, staff, friends, or members of your community,
groups of 5+ receive 25% off registration.

If you’ve been carrying things you’ve never had space to say… this room is for you.

Many people feel frustrated because they believe they should be "over it" by now.

But grief doesn't operate on a timeline.

The goal isn't to erase the love, forget the memories, or pretend the loss never happened. The goal is learning how to carry what you've experienced while continuing to live, grow, and find meaning.

Healing is not about leaving your loved one behind.

It's about discovering what life can look like while keeping their impact with you.

Grief comes to see us ten times.
We treat the tenth like the first.

You think you're ready. You think you know it. Then you're in it — and it feels nothing like what you imagined.

Here's what took me years to learn: grief never ends. The pain is what's supposed to end.

Once you understand that, you stop fighting it and start carrying it differently.

That's the work. And it's ongoing.

Grief In Real Life — June 13.

Tonight proved it again: when men have a real space, they show up.

Today’s Men’s Check‑In hit different.

Nine men pulled up tonight. Not for show. Not for a quick fix. Just men tired of carrying everything on their own who needed a real space to talk, check themselves, and reset.

We called out where we’re slipping, what’s costing us sleep, and how we’ve been beating up our bodies, our minds, and sometimes the people closest to us. Nobody had it all together. Everybody was honest.

That’s the same energy going into Men’s Lab – July Series.

Men’s Lab – July (Live on Zoom)
Dates: July 8, 15, 22, 29 · Time: 7:00 PM CST

Not a support group — a lab. A focused, practical space for men who handle business, but can feel something’s off and are done pretending it’s not.

We’re going to hit:

Being tired, ticked off, and still expected to perform

Saying what you really feel without it turning into a blow‑up

Turning “I’m gonna do better” into moves you actually keep

Being the one everybody leans on — without losing yourself

If this hits you in the chest, that’s your sign.

You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone in your grief.

I've spent more than 20 years sitting in rooms with people carrying losses they never had a place to talk about.

Not because they didn't want help.

Because nobody knew how to have the conversation.

That's why I created Grief In Real Life.

Not because I read about grief.
Because I've sat with it.
I've lived in the rooms where people were carrying more than anyone could see.

On June 13, we're gathering in Bedford, Texas for a day of honest conversations about grief, loss, healing, and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn't look the way you expected.

No pretending.
No scripts.
No pressure to be "over it."

Just real people having real conversations.

I'm a grief therapist.

I've spent years helping others navigate loss, heartbreak, and life after death. But when grief became personal, I learned something important.

Training doesn't make you immune to pain.

When I lost my father, my mother, my sister, and my brother... I needed support too.

There is a misconception that asking for help means you're weak. The truth is that healing often begins when we stop trying to carry everything alone.

If you've been grieving in silence, I want you to know that support is available and healing is possible.

Join me at Grief in Real Life for a day of honest conversations, practical tools, and hope for the journey ahead.

Register today and take the next step toward healing.

Most people think grief is loud.

But a lot of grief looks calm.

You show up.
You smile.
You serve.
You quote the scripture.
You stay busy.

And everybody assumes you're okay.

Meanwhile, something inside you is shifting.

I've seen people spend years performing strength while carrying pain nobody knows how to ask about.

Grief doesn't move because we pretend it isn't there.

It moves when we tell the truth.

If you're tired of holding it together, maybe it's time to sit in a room where you don't have to.

Join us for Grief In Real Life in Bedford, Texas.

No performance.
No hiding.
No scripts.

Just honest conversations about what grief actually feels like and what healing can look like.
